Gold CD released in vinyl replica sleeve. Artwork by Daniel Szwed.
After last year’s “Sun’s Mother” released by Instant Classic, Daniel Szwed returns with a material partly recorded during those sessions. Under the production of Mateusz Rosiński (Jessica, Dynasonic), Daniel again presents his trademark ritual/tribal drumming with noisy electronics, pedals and DIY built instruments. Overwhelming and sultry post -industrial material.
Unlike the previous album on which Resina and Konrad Smoleński appeared as guests, on SPLINTER only one song is a completely solo composition – the others were co-created by Jessica, Natalia Górecka, Mala Herba and Liam Andrews (Aicher, My Disco, Big Brave, Eros).
Daniel Szwed – Drummer. Co-founder of the BNNT collective (with Konrad Smoleński), with whom he has been working in the sphere of sound and image since 2008. In his explorations, he focuses on a minimalist set, seeking new textures and sound colors. He electrifies drums, venturing into technoidal forms and metallic afterimages based on rhythm. Sometimes he wraps aggressive play in grainy, drone-like layers, while at other times he touches on quasi-metal forms. He unconventionally uses percussion, builds reverb, and delves into the realms of raw techno and rough noise music. He balances on the edge of electroacoustics, metal, and industrial, setting his direction with steady sound and ritual form.
